Sophie is a Cornish illustrator with a passion for capturing people and their stories through her art.
Sophie’s artistic journey began at a young age, with a clear vision of becoming a fashion designer. A passion for textiles at school, an art and design foundation degree at Central Saint Martins and a degree in Fashion Atelier from UCA, culminated in her achieving a design role at a London fashion house.
Sophie returned to Cornwall in 2015 to reconnect with her love of the coast and to continue to explore her creative side. Sophie’s artwork can’t help but reflect her fashion heritage, taking inspiration from people watching, using stylised interpretations of clothing to further express their individuality.

Sophie paints with precise, illustrative strokes, using striking compositions that catch the eye. Her artwork is often set on the Cornish coast, most recently working on birch ply. This unique approach leaves the natural grain exposed, adding a warmth to each piece which is further enhanced by the colour coordinated shadow gap and bare wood framing.
